The term comes from a commercial and was first used in the software context by a Microsoft manager in 1988. Product dogfooding enables organizations to shorten the feedback loop by testing their products for bugs and usability issues before releasing them to the users. It’s a widely accepted practice in many organizations.
Tech was built on the idea that we get our products to scale, so we work really hard to get people to click to register, start a new trial, become a new customer – that’s what we live and die by in tech. So right now, the way that this system is built is designed by default to benefit these hate groups and organisations.
While it’s great that the public is seeing opportunity and practical uses for AI, not all AI tools are ready for commercial use. And, for those that do, none of them are like Alchemer Pulse and 100% focused on analyzing customer feedback data. These “hallucinations” may be entertaining but they’re also a sign of unreliability.
